To celebrate the Joy of Giving Week, employees of Sonata Software, an IT consulting and software services provider, has taken up the distribution of solar LED study lamps to underprivileged students and street children.
In a release to exchanges, the company said that the Joy of Giving Week is being celebrated from October 2 to 8, through a series of philanthropic activities and donation drives.
In addition to solar lamps, the company employees are also donating essential supplies to deprived sections and providing financial aid to people with chronic diseases.
“Corporate social responsibility is a way of life and a key area of focus at Sonata,” said Swati Sengupta, Head, Corporate Marketing & CSR, Sonata Software.
She further said: “Through our donation drives and employee volunteerism, we try and make a difference to communities in need, and in return this becomes a satisfying and humbling experience for us as an organisation. What is especially heartening is the enthusiasm shown by Sonatians to lead all the initiatives from ideation to execution.”
