Six rounds of bidding on the 13th day of the telecom spectrum auctions got the Centre ₹1.08 lakh crore on Wednesday.
There have been 80 rounds of bidding across 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands, since the auctions started on March 4.
“Majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price. The competitive bidding is expected to continue. There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold,” the Department of Telecom said.
The bidding is taking place in all bands. Brisk bidding was seen on thirteenth day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100 per cent, it said.
Robus bidding “There is robust bidding going on in 1800 MHz and 800 MHz bands. At the end of 80th round, about 89 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders,” DoT added.
The 800 MHz continues to be more competitive as demand is going in circles such as Delhi and Maharashtra.
For example, the intensity crossed 100 per cent in circles such as Andhra Pradesh (134.6 per cent), Assam (193.6 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (244 per cent), Maharashtra (109.4 per cent) and North East (107.1 per cent).
However, there is no bidding taking place in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh (both East and West). Similarly, there is no bidding taking place in Bihar in the 1800 MHz.
In the 900 MHz, the intensity rose more than 100 per cent in circles such as Assam (149.9 per cent), Bihar (172.2 per cent), Andhra Pradesh (112.8 per cent), Punjab (138.9 per cent) and Uttar Pradesh West (224.3 per cent)
In the 2100 MHz, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai circles continued to get no bids.
