The Government is planning to start the next round of spectrum auction on January 21. The Empowered Group of Ministers is scheduled to meet on November 22 to finalise the reserve price proposed by the Telecom Commission. Earlier, the plan was to start the auction in the second week of January. But difference of opinion between the telecom department and the TRAI on pricing has led to a delay. The DoT has now asked TRAI to also set the base price for the 800 MHz band within 15 days.
