Telecom spectrum auctions fetched the Central government ₹1,03,046 crore at the end of 11th day. Six rounds of auction took place on Monday.
The auction that started on March 4, has till now seen 67 rounds of bidding. The bidding had reached ₹1,02,215 crore at the end of 10th day on March 14.
Actions were seen in all the circles and activity picked up in Bihar circle in the 800 MHz. There was no bidding from Bihar in the 800MHz last week.
However, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (both East and West) continued no bidding in the 800 MHz. Strong bids were seen in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam circles for the 800 MHz where the intensity reached more than 100 per cent on the eleventh day.
In the 900 MHz, strong bids came in for Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh (West) circles. The intensity reached more than 100 per cent in most of the circles including Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (West).
In the 1,800 MHz, there was no bidding from Bihar circle, but it was active in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kolkata. The intensity reached more than 100 per cent in Kolkata.
In the 2,100 MHz, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai continued not to bid for the spectrum.
“The bidding is taking place in all bands. Brisk bidding was seen on 11th day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100 per cent. There is robust bidding going on in 1,800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands,” the Department of Telecom said.
At the end of 67th round, more than 87 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders. There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold, it added.
