Aureus Analytics, a Mumbai based Big Data and Analytics start up today announced that Sudhin Roy Chowdhury, former Member (Life) of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India will be advising them on marketing and product strategy.
Roy Chowdhury brings with him an unparalleled understanding of the life insurance business both in India and globally, said the company in a release.
With over 38 years of experience in this field, Roy Chowdhury has been instrumental in turning around the fortunes of LIC in geographies such as Bahrain and other Gulf countries.
“Roy Chowdhury is probably one of the very few insurance experts who understand technology as well as its impact on the insurance domain. I am certain that with Roy Choudhury’s experience and Aureus’s technology capabilities, we will be able to bring to the market analytics solution that solve the key challenges insurers face today and may face in the near future”, said Anurag Shah, CEO and Co-Founder of Aureus Analytics.
Roy Chowdhury said, “The insurance market in India is poised for an exponential take off with the insurance amendment bill proposing to increase the FDI limit to 49 per cent. The complexity of product catalogue to cater to a nation as diverse as India, will require not only specialist Insurance skills but all the right technology to back it up. I see analytics as playing a very crucial role in this”.
