Tata Docomo plans to expand its high-speed mobile broadband service in all metros and mini-metros by the end of this fiscal.
“The company has plans to roll out Photon Max in all key metros and mini-metros in a phased manner within financial year 2014,” Tata DoCoMo’s Mobility Business Unit Head for Mumbai, Aditya Gupta, told PTI.
Photon Max dongle
The company had on Thursday launched its Photon Max dongle for Rs 1,699, which it said can deliver wireless broadband service at a speed up to 6.2 megabit per second (mbps).
The company offers new customers Photon Max internet usage of 10 Gb for 30 days on a one-time recharge of Rs 300.
“For the first time ever in the industry, Tata Docomo Photon Max will offer lifetime validity to its pre-paid customers,” Gupta said.
Tata Docomo has launched this service on its CDMA network, which is considered to have seen less traction in the country.
Gupta said that the company will gradually introduce WiFi-enabled product in Photon Max portfolio.
