The conciliation process for settling the tax dispute with Vodafone Plc will begin only when there is agreement on the laws under which talks will be held, a senior Government official said. The conciliation process will pave the way for settling the Rs 11,200-crore tax dispute.
Even as reports came in suggesting that pre-conciliation talks have been completed successfully, the official told Business Line that it is yet to be concluded.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of global telecom major Vodafone Plc, Vittorio Colao, is coming to India in the first week of December. Sources said that during his visit, Colao will meet Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and others.
