Tata Consultancy Services has launched an application that will enable insured drivers to maintain an electronic version of their insurance card and other policy related information on their smartphones.
The company’s ‘Insurance Quickpass’ allows users to review policy details anytime and eliminates the need for printing insurance cards while reducing the risk of losing information, according to a statement on TCS’ Web site.
TCS did not provide additional details as the company in a silent period, as mandated by SEBI, before its first quarter results are announced later this month.
However, sources say that the company is in the final stages of closing in on a customer for the Indian market.
The use of electronic insurance cards has been approved in 24 States, TCS said.
Its scrip was up by 0.51 per cent to close at Rs 1,500 on the National Stock Exchange.
