Tech Mahindra has set up two new centres for delivering its software services in Europe, a move which could potentially create 500 new jobs.
This has been necessitated by the demand seen by the company in certain pockets of the continent.
In the quarter gone by, the Pune-headquartered software services firm added 500 new seats to its delivery footprint by establishing new centres in The Hague (Netherlands) and Brussels (Belgium), said C.P. Gurnani, Chief Executive Officer.
“The centres became operational last quarter…both (the centres) are built around customers for whom we are doing lot of onsite centric work,” he told
The Brussels centre will have BASE as its first customer. The new centres are in addition to the sales and marketing offices that the company already has in the two cities.
Despite the macro economic challenges in Europe, Tech Mahindra see growth opportunities from the continent, which already contributes 32 per cent to overall revenues. “Deal flow from Europe is all-time high for us… I think Europe will be the company’s differentiator going forward,” added Gurnani.
The company is bullish on new deals coming from Germany and countries in the Nordic region. In April, the company took over the lab assets of Sony Mobile Communications in Sweden for an undisclosed sum, marking its entry into the continents mobile testing domain.
