The telecom spectrum auction continued for the seventh day on Wednesday with a commitment of ₹96,000 crore from six rounds, taking the total to 43 bidding rounds since March 4.
The commitment has risen again after falling down to ₹92,000 crore on Tuesday against ₹94,000 crore on Monday. The auction will continue on Thursday.
At present, over 84 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders, it said adding that majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price.
“The competitive bidding is expected to continue. There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold,” it added.
While most of the circles are sold in the bidding, the activity was most in the 900 MHz in all circles, except Bihar. Similarly, in the 2,100 MHz the bidding was active in all circles, except in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai.
In the 800 MHz, there was no bidding in Bihar, Karnataka, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (East) and UP (West). In the 1,800 MHz also, there was no bidding from Bihar and UP (West).
