At the end of the ninth day telecom spectrum auctions was at ₹1,01,423 crore, marginally lower than the previous day (Thursday).
Auction took place in all the circles with 87 per cent of bidding and 55 rounds at the end of the day. Major action was seen in all the circles especially in 900 MHz.
“The provisional amount committed by bidders at the end of 55th round continues to be over ₹1-lakh crore.
“Majority of the service areas are going at a premium over reserve price.
“The competitive bidding is expected to continue.
“There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold,” Department of Telecom said.
The auction will continue on Saturday.
Major action was seen in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and North East in 800 MHz. In 900 MHz, the West Bengal circle attracted bids and in 1800 MHz, the action took place in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh circles.
However, bidding did not take place in Bihar, Karnataka, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (both East and West) in the 800 MHz.
“Similarly, in 2100 MHz, there was no bidding in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai. In 900 MHz, there were no bids in Bihar circle.
“Brisk bidding was seen on ninth day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100 per cent.
There is robust bidding going on in all bands – 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands,” DoT said.
