Top executives at Vodafone India, including Mr Sanjoy Mukerji, Chief Commercial Officer, are on their way out. Mr Samaresh Parida, Director, Strategy has also put in his papers. While Mr Mukerji will leave in October, Mr Parida will exit in August. When contacted, Vodafone spokesperson confirmed the development. “It is true that Sanjoy Mukerji, Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone India, has decided to leave the organisation to pursue his entrepreneurial interests. Sanjoy, in his 10-year stint, has made major contributions to the success of Vodafone India (and its legal predecessors),” the official spokesperson said. “It is also true that Samaresh Parida will be leaving Vodafone India by end August 2012,” he added.
Vodafone India had recently undertaken a major management restructuring with an eye on the next phase of growth. Under the new structure, the company had created two new roles at the top level — the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer. Mr Mukerji who was earlier Director Business Operations for North and East, was appointed the Chief Commercial Officer. Mr Parida’s role got diluted after the appointment of Mr Manu Dagar as Director of External Affairs responsible for corporate communication, public affairs and Vodafone foundation.
