Ridesharing app Uber, which is going through a leadership crisis globally, has however, been strengthening its team in India and South Asia, its high growth markets.
The mobility solution provider has appointed Vishpala Reddy as Chief People’s Officer for India and South Asia. With HR expertise of over 17 years across leading organisations, Vishpala will accelerate the company’s efforts to position human capital as a key driver in enabling business success at Uber, the company said in a statement.
Prior to joining Uber, Vishpala was Vice-President and the Head of HR for American Express in India. She has also worked with Hewitt Associates as a senior consultant. She started her career with Cognizant Technologies. Reddy played an active role as a board member of the national executive board of NHRDN (National HR Development Network) 2016-17 and has also led their Young Minds Advisory Board.
In her new role, Vishpala will focus on building a dynamic workplace that attracts the best talent, strengthening the leadership capability and enabling innovative people practices to support the growing workforce needs.
