Uber, the cab-hailing services company, has expanded the UberEats service to Hyderabad, its seventh city for the tech-based food delivery service. To woo the customers, who are already hooked to other food delivery services, UberEATS announced that it would collect only Rs 1 as delivery fee.

The firm has tied up with 300 restaurants in the city but chose to offer the service only in the IT hubs of Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur and Kukatpally initially.

Telugu and Tamil film actress Rakul Preet Singh has formally launched the service here on Wednesday.

The US-based firm introduced UberEats in India in May this year and covered the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai and Chandigarh.

Jason Droege, Head of UberEverything, a business unit within Uber that focuses on creating newer business, has said that the firm would use the huge data it built over the past few years in India after it launched the cab services to power its food delivery service.

Bhavik Rathod, Head of UberEATS India, has refused to indicate the names of cities for expansion. He, however, hinted that it might go to cities like Pune and Kokata.

Started in 2014, UberEATS app is available in 130 cities in 29 countries.
