Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) has paid an additional ₹1,000 crore as Adjusted Gross Revenues (AGR) dues to the Department of Telecomunications (DoT) on Friday.
This is in addition to the earlier deposits of ₹ 6,854 crore in three tranches, VIL said in a regulatory filing.
This comes ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on AGR issue next week. On June 18, the apex court had adjourned the case till the third week of July and had asked Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices to furnish financial statements and books of accounts of last 10 years.
On October 24, the apex court had dismissed incumbent telecom operators plea and had asked them to cough up nearly ₹1.3 lakh crore in AGR dues.
