Vodafone Foundation and Nasscom Foundation on Tuesday launched the 6th edition of ‘Mobile for Good Awards 2016’ to recognise and support emerging and innovative mobile solutions aimed at addressing social issues by using mobile technology.
P Balaji, Director Regulatory and External Affair, CSR, Vodafone India, said: “We aim to encourage new talent that helps in addressing the critical areas of health, education, governance, agriculture and women empowerment in India.” To support winning non-profits to achieve larger impact, Vodafone Foundation will award grants ₹90 lakh this year and has planned mentoring for six winning NGOs.
Shrikant Sinha, CEO, Nasscom Foundation, said: ‘We are glad to collaborate with Vodafone Foundation for searching the right fit mobile solutions to India’s social issues.”
