Telecom service provider Vodafone India Ltd on Thursday announced its tie-up with the National Association for the Blind (NAB) to help provide job opportunities to the visually impaired.
As part of the initiative, employees recruited by Vodafone India through NAB will man the call centre customers in the Delhi region.
The employees have undergone training on voice recognition system instead of Braille, which enables them to handle calls, a company release said.
Shalini Khanna, Centre Head, NAB India Centre, Delhi, said: “We feel this initiative by Vodafone India shall be a role model for many corporates to be innovative and go the extra mile to accommodate more diverse groups in their productivity.”
