The country's third largest IT company, Wipro Ltd posted a 4 per cent increase in net profit to ₹2,190 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal on gross revenues of ₹12,240 crore which was up 10 per cent.
The company said on Thursday that its guidance for quarter ending September, 2015 is $1,821 million - $1,857 million.
The IT services segment revenues for the company on a sequential basis rose 1.1 per cent in dollar terms to $1,794.1 million while in rupee terms it grew 10 per cent to ₹11,580 crore.
On a constant currency basis, IT services segment revenue in dollar terms grew 0.2 per cent sequential basis and 8.1 per cent on a year on year basis. IT services margin for the quarter was 21 per cent for the quarter.
"On the run side, deals are getting increasingly competitive and we are increasing the level of automation while on the change side, new stakeholders are influencing buying decisions in the digital space," T.K. Kurien, member of the board and the chief executive officer of Wipro Ltd said.
The IT major added 36 new clients and as of the last quarter, it had a total of 1,61,789 employees.
