Wipro will be making changes to its hiring strategy.
For starters, the company will hire more in Americas, Executive Director and CEO T.K. Kurien, told reporters. He said the company will look at hiring talent that has a mix of domain and technical knowledge rather than plain vanilla engineers.
“We will invest more in local talent and employees going from India will come down,” said Kurien. While the company does not give out numbers of people it employs out of India, it said that employees of international origin has gone up from 31 per cent in FY10 to 40 per cent currently.
Indian IT companies have been facing the heat as a proposed Immigration Bill, which can be damaging for Indian IT companies, according to industry watchers.
