Chinese phone-maker Xiaomi on Monday launched the Redmi Note (3G) and Redmi Note 4G phablets, priced at ₹8,999 and ₹9,999, respectively.
While, the 3G Note will be available exclusively on Flipkart from December 2, the 4G Note will be available from the second half of next month, Xiaomi said. Registration for the 3G Note will start on Tuesday at 6 pm.
Both Airtel and non-Airtel customers will be able to pre-book the Redmi Note 4G.
Customers can purchase the device on their existing Airtel post-paid plan or through activation of Airtel’s myPlan.
In cities where Airtel offers 4G services, post-paid customers on 3G can enjoy 4G speeds on their Redmi Note at the same tariff as their existing 3G plan, without a need to activate any special 4G plans, the company said.
“With Airtel as our partner for Mi India’s first 4G device, we are committed to providing the best Internet experience, with faster speeds. Our fans will have easier access to our products from Airtel’s flagship stores,” Manu Jain, Xiaomi India Head, said.
He said the company was hopeful of hitting one-million unit sales with the launch of the Redmi Note. It has sold around eight-lakh devices of Redmi 1S and Mi3 through its partnership with Flipkart.
