A tablet for professionals. That’s how the Rajeev Karwal founded Milagrow Business and Knowledge Solutions has positioned the first product coming out of its stable, a new tablet.
At one time known as the poster boy of Indian marketing, Mr Karwal’s entrepreneurial venture Milagrow was till now in the services domain, offering consulting solutions. But now, he says, a new division within the company called HumanTech will be focussing on products in the consumer electronics space.
The tablet – named as Tab Top PC – is the first offering of this division. Available in two versions initially, the 32GB, 1.2 GHz, processor, 1GB DDRAM version is priced at Rs Rs 29,900 while the 16 GB version comes for Rs 24,990. The tablet will be available in the market and in ecommerce portals from next week, said Mr Karwal.
“Till now most of the tablets have been predominantly focussed on media and entertainment, while the Indian tablet brands were focussed on price,” said Mr Karwal, pointing out how TabTop PC is focussed on addressing the computing needs of professionals and seeks to bid adieu to the laptop and desktop.
It will therefore be targeted primarily at the enterprise segment. The TabTops come with over 50 pre-loaded applications for productivity, utility, networking, media, education, finance and so on, he said.
Based on the latest generation of Android, it has an interactive customizable home screen with moveable widgets, notifications and tabbed browsing. Support for HDMI enables viewing of videos and movies on larger HD screens.
What also appeared to be a differentiator in Milagrow’s tablet is the number of product ports it comes equipped with, giving the user room to plug in a host of devices as well as features like Quad Band 3G Sim.
