Zensar Technologies, an RPG Group company, has posted a 36.2 per cent rise in net profit of ₹76.27 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 against ₹55.98 crore for the comparable period of the previous financial year.

During the reporting period, the IT consulting and software company’s revenues rose 16.5 per cent to ₹704.64 crore from ₹604.78 crore in the year-ago period. The revenue growth was led by growth in digital and e-commerce businesses, the company said in a statement.

“This has been a quarter of robust growth for Zensar on all fronts. The company has been focusing on new client acquisitions and strategic deals in digital and e-commerce, which has resulted in good wins and a substantial order pipeline,” said Ganesh Natarajan, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Zensar Technologies.

On the BSE, shares of Zensar closed up 8.25 per cent at ₹744.75 on Wednesday.
