Chinese telecom firm ZTE today announced the appointment of Xu Dejun as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its India operations.
Prior to his appointment as India CEO, Xu worked as ZTE Africa’s head of international projects, head of technical sales and senior vice president of ZTE India’s engineering service center, the company said in a release.
This year, the firm will launch a range of terminals including 3G data cards and smartphones in India, with a view to a 30 per cent increase in smartphone revenue.
“India is an important market for us. In 2013, we have renewed our focus on key customers, our service business and terminals,” Xu said.
The company is working on various projects for education, hospitality and smart cities, he added.
