Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) and Rolta India Ltd soared today after a consortium of these two companies secured Defence Ministry's order valued at more than Rs 50,000 crore for Battlefield Management System project.
Rolta's shares hit a new 52-week high of Rs 177.40 today. At 2.05 pm, the shares were trading at Rs 174.80, a gain of Rs 25.5 or 17.08 per cent on the BSE with a surge in volume of over 3.75 times.
BEL shares were trading up by Rs 4.47 per cent or Rs 163.20 at Rs 3,813 on the BSE. The stock hit an intra-day high of Rs 4,083 and a low of Rs 3,740. There was a spurt in volume by more than 3.68 times.
