A police complaint has been filed against the promoters of BSE-listed Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd in a cheating case at a Vadodara police station late on Friday.
A press communique from Vadodara Police stated that a case was registered at Gorwa Police Station against Suresh Bhatnagar, Amit Bhatnagar and Sumit Bhatnagar, directors of DPIL under IPC of 409, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 (A), 114 on the complaint of a female resident of Vadodara city.
The Vadodara Police communique issued on Saturday reads, complainant claimed that the accused had allegedly cheated her by making duplicate copies of 2,000 shares of DPIL and sold them out of her knowledge.
The complainant claimed that she had purchased 2,000 shares of DPIL in 1995, the present value of which including bonus and interest totals to around Rs 5 lakh.
The police is investigating the matter.
Notably, last year, DPIL managing director, Amit Bhatnagar was arrested in an excise evasion case. He was later granted bail by a local court.
DPIL shares had ended at Rs 45.25 on Friday, down by close to 5 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
