Air China Ltd shares jumped as much as 10 per cent in late morning trade, after fuel surcharge was slashed effective January 5, the fourth consecutive cut since October 2014.
China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd, China Southern Airlines Co Ltd and Hainan Airlines shares also jumped more than 6 per cent.
Fuel surcharge per passenger on all domestic routes less than 800 kilometres has been cut to 10 yuan ($2) from 30 yuan, with the rate for domestic routes longer than 800 kilometres down to 30 yuan from 60 yuan.
Latest fuel surchage cut was announced by the Civil Aviation Administration of China on December 31.
