About 81 per cent of 20.67 lakh kg offered for Sale No: 23 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold with average price falling to ₹78.61 a kg-the lowest since Nov 27, 2015 and a rupee less per kg over the previous week.
Among CTC teas from bought-leaf factories, Vigneshwar Speciality’s Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped the Leaf tea auctions and the entire CTC market when Jay Kay Enterprises bought it for ₹261 a kg.
Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe, auctioned by Global tea Brokers, followed it at ₹217.
In the CTC Dust tea auctions, Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹225.
In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹262 a kg followed by Chamraj at ₹246.
