Tracking a weak global trend, crude oil prices declined by Rs 18 to Rs 4,864 per barrel at futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October declined by Rs 18 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,864 per barrel with a business turnover of Rs 29,316 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November lost Rs 17 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 4,898 per barrel in 3,816 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in crude oil futures to weak global trend.
Meanwhile, crude for November delivery slid 4 cents to $91.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
