Crude oil futures prices today fell 0.46 per cent to Rs 5,203 per barrel, as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the Asian trade.
According to analysts, the trading sentiment turned negative as crude oil prices declined in the Asian trade after OPEC kept its output ceiling unchanged and voiced concerns over weak global economic growth dragging crude demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in June shed Rs 24 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 5,203 per barrel in 9,335 lots. Similarly, oil for July delivery moved down by Rs 16 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 5,234 per barrel in 700 lots.
Meanwhile, crude oil for April delivery shed 19 cents to $91.78 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
