Crude oil futures fell 0.11 per cent to Rs 6,260 per barrel after speculators reduced their exposures amid a weak trend in Asian trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in May fell Rs 7 or 0.11 per cent to Rs 6,260 per barrel in 879 lots.
Similarly, the oil for April delivery moved down by Rs 6 or 0.1 per cent to Rs 6,281 per barrel in a turnover of 1,390 lots.
Trading sentiment weakened at the futures trade today as crude prices were down in subdued post-holidays Asian trade, but retained support from the escalating Ukraine crisis following a deadly gunfight over the week-end, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery dropped 22 cents to $104.08 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
