Crude oil futures fell Rs 11 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 6,739 per barrel today as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the Asian trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October fell Rs 11 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 6,739 per barrel in 98 lots. Similarly, the oil for September delivery moved down by Rs 7 or 0.1 per cent to Rs 6,738 per barrel in 1,225 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in crude prices at the futures trade to a weak trend in the Asian region on easing concerns about West Asian supply.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude for delivery in October was down 2 cents at $103.83 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
