Crude oil futures prices rose 0.35 per cent to Rs 6,389 per barrel today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firm trend in the Asian region.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 22 or 0.35 per cent at Rs 6,389 per barrel with a business turnover of 2,229 lots.
Similarly, September contract was also up by Rs 17 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 6,338 per barrel with a business volume of 263 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in crude oil futures was attributed to a firm trend in Asian on robust US crude demand.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery gained 22 cents to $107.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
