Crude oil futures prices today fell 0.48 per cent to Rs 6,789 per barrel as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the Asian trade ahead of US crude stockpiles data.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in September shed Rs 33 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 6,789 per barrel in 4,047 lots. Similarly, October contracts moved down by Rs 32 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 6,779 per barrel in 468 lots.
Trading sentiment eased at the futures trade as crude oil prices inched down in Asia ahead of US crude stockpiles data for clues about demand in the world’s biggest economy, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery was down 7 cents at $107.03 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in the morning trade.
