Positive sentiments continued in edible oil markets tracking firm futures markets and extended gain in Malaysian palm oil on Friday. In Mumbai, groundnut and cotton refined oil improved by Rs 5 and Re1 each. Imported palmolein was up by Rs 3 and soyabean refined oil increased by Re 1 each. Sunflower and rapeseed oil ruled steady. Liberty sold about 350-400 tonnes of palmolein at Rs 502-504 and super palmolein Rs 550. Ruchi sold about 700-800 tonnes of imported palmolein at Rs 494 ex-JNPT and 50-60 tonnes sunflower refined oil at Rs 770. Resellers offloaded about 150-200 tonnes palmolein at Rs 491 ex JNPT.
In Saurashtra – Rajkot, groundnut oil prices were up by Rs 20 to Rs 1,980 for telia tin and Rs 1,300 (Rs 1,280) for loose (10 kg). Towards the day’s close, Liberty was quoting palmolein at Rs 502-504 for Jan and Rs 515-517 for Feb, super palmolein Rs 550 for January, soya refined oil Rs 673 and sunflower refined oil Rs 780 for January. Ruchi quoted palmolein at Rs 500 for January and Rs 511 for February, imported palmolein Rs 494 for January 5-15, soyabean refined oil at Rs 670 and sunflower refined oil Rs 770 for January. Allana’s rate for palmolein was Rs 498 and super palmolein Rs 545.
On the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange, soyabean refined oil January was at Rs 702.60 (Rs 699.90), February at Rs 692.40 (Rs 686.05) and March was Rs 685.80 (Rs 679.45).
The Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (Rs/10 kg): groundnut oil 1,280 (1,275), soya refined oil 671 (670), sunflower exp. ref. 700 (700), sunflower ref. 775 (775), rapeseed ref. oil 815 (815), rapeseed expeller ref. 785(785) cottonseed ref. oil 620 (619) and palmolein 495 (492).
