Freight rates for 10 tonne load gained Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on increased cargo movements along with less availability of trucks.

Transporters said heavy arrivals of cargo coupled with tight availability of trucks led to the rise in freight rates.

Delhi to Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai rates rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 40,000, and Rs 21,000, respectively.

Likewise, freight rates for Delhi to Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Patna also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 42,000, Rs 49,000, Rs 54,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively.

Rates to Indore, Kanpur and Ludhiana also increased by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 14,000, Rs 12,000, and Rs 13,000, respectively.
