Sugar prices ruled steady on the Vashi wholesale market barring fair variety old stock which was sold at ₹10-15 lower by needy stockists. Supply from producers continued to be limited as also demand. Millers kept tender offer open to ease inventory. Naka and mill tender rates were unchanged with routine volume. Arrivals were at 62-63 truck loads and local dispatches were 60-61 truck loads. On Thursday, 19-20 mills offered tenders and sold 58,000-60,000 bags at steady level of ₹2,800-2,910 for S-grade and ₹2,920-3,020 for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,950-3,040 (₹2,962-3,042) and M-grade ₹3,100-3,226 (₹3,100-3,242). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,910-3,000 (₹2,910-3,000) and M-grade ₹3,020-3,120 (₹3,020-3,120).
