Mentha oil prices rose by 1.24 per cent to Rs 876.90 per kg in futures trade today on the back of a pick-up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil futures for delivery in July rose by Rs 10.70 or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 876.90 per kg with a business turnover of 108 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 10.10 or 1.17 per cent to Rs 871 per kg with an open interest for 178 lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by speculators on the back of rising demand in the spot market pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
In addition, restricted arrivals in the spot market from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the uptrend.
