Delay in monsoon and strong buying support from millers and stockists have lifted prices of majority of pulse seeds and pulses in Indore mandis. Chana has risen to ₹2,825-50 a quintal with demand outstripping arrivals. Similarly, chana (desi) rose to ₹2,500-2,600 while chana (mausmi) ruled at ₹2,600-2,700, Kabuli Bitki at ₹2,600-2,700 and Kaktu ruled at ₹2,800-3,000.
Given present weather outlook and lower crop output, future of chana appears bullish in the coming days, said Rahul Vora, a local chana trader.
Rise in chana has also lifted its dal by almost ₹100-200 a quintal in the past one week with chana dal (average) at ₹3,100-25, chana dal (medium) at ₹3,300-25, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹3,500-25.Dollar chana was being quoted at ₹4,500-5,200.
In container, dollar chana ruled stable on subdued export demand with 42/44 count at ₹5,475-5,500, 44/46 count at ₹5,275-5,300, 58/60 count ₹4,175-4,200, while 60/62 count was ₹4,075-4,100 a quintal respectively.
