Spot pepper prices continued to remain steady on matching demand and supply, while the futures market on the IPSTA platform moved up in day trading. On the spot, 23 tonnes of pepper were traded.
Of this, 10-12 tonnes were semi-processed material traded at ₹732 a kg. The remaining pepper arrived was from the high ranges and the plains and they were sold at ₹725, ₹730 and ₹735 respectively.
Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹72,000 (ungarbled) and ₹75,000 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were at $12,900 c&f for Europe and $13,150 a tonne (c&f) for the US.
