Pepper prices moved up by 0.12 per cent to Rs 30,286 per quintal in futures trading today largely supported by tight supply in the physical market against better demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in June gained Rs 37 or 0.12 per cent to Rs 30,286 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,954 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 6 or 0.02 per cent to Rs 30,141 per quintal in 4,200 lots.
Market analysts said besides tight supply in the physical market, firm spot demand pushed prices up.
