Spot pepper prices ruled sluggish on limited availability and slack demand while no activities were reported from national and single commodity exchanges. On the spot, seven tonnes of pepper arrived.
High range pepper was traded at ₹735 a kg. Buyers were at ₹730, while sellers were offering at ₹735. Karnataka sellers were offering 500 GL material at ₹730 but buyers were ready at ₹720, market sources told Business Line .
Semi-processed pepper was also being offered at ₹735 but buyers were quoting ₹730 a kg. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹72,000 for ungarbled and ₹75,000 for garbled a quintal. Export prices were also steady at $12,800 (c&f) for Europe and $13,050 a tonne (c&f) for the US.
