Poultry feed prices ruled unaltered despite some fluctuation in prices of its key ingredients, on Wednesday.
Aditya Mishar, a market expert, told Business Line that after a prices rise last week, feed prices have been ruling unchanged as the cost of production has been steady over the last one week.
Feed prices may witness some alteration after Diwali, he added.
Soyameal prices went down by Rs 20 and quoted at Rs 2,950 a quintal. Bajra prices increased by Rs 50 and sold at Rs 1,260, maize ruled at Rs 1,450, Rs 20 up from the previous level, while DCP remained unaltered at Rs 36 a kg. Rice bran oil ruled flat and quoted at Rs 57 a litre, while fish oil was at Rs 65.

After witnessing an uptrend last week, prices of poultry feed products remained unchanged and may continue to rule around current levels for the next few days, said market sources. Broiler concentrates feed quoted at Rs 1,885 for a 50-kg bag while broiler starter mash was at Rs 1,430. Broiler pre-starter concentrate 30 per cent sold at Rs 1,625 for a 30-kg bag while layer concentrate quoted at Rs 1,430 for a 50-kg bag. Pre-lay mash quoted at Rs 1,005 while broiler finisher sold at Rs 1,400 for a 50-kg bag.

Meanwhile, egg improved marginally on better demand while broiler and chick eased further on sluggish off-take, on Wednesday. Egg improved marginally by 15 paise and sold to Rs 3.25; broiler quoted at Rs 50 a kg, Rs 2 down from the previous level. Similarly, chick was further down by Rs 3 at Rs 8.
