Silver prices fell 0.84 per cent to Rs 43,904 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, taking weak cues from global market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 370 or 0.84 per cent to Rs 43,904 per kg in a business turnover of 100 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March declined Rs 373 or 0.81 per cent to Rs 45,471 per kg in a business volume of 550 lots.
In the international market, silver fell as much as one per cent to $19.79 an ounce in Singapore, snapping two days of gains.
Market analysts said a subdued trend in precious metals in the global market on speculation that the Federal Reserve will begin reducing its monetary stimulus as the US economy strengthens, mainly put pressure on silver futures here.
