Silver prices moved up by Rs 523 to Rs 43,415 per kg at the futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved up by Rs 523 or 1.22 per cent to Rs 43,415 per kg with a business turnover of 4,868 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for July delivery traded higher by Rs 521 or 1.19 per cent to Rs 44,120 per kg in 720 lots.
Market analysts said enlarging of positions by speculators, in line with a firm global trend, mainly pushed up silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, the white metal gained 0.8 per cent to $23.36 an ounce in Singapore.
