Tracking a firming global trend, silver prices moved up by Rs 361 to Rs 57,532 per kg at the futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September rose Rs 361 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 57,532 per kg with an open interest of a single lot. Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May gained Rs 331 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 56,215 per kg with a business volume of four lots.
Analysts said besides a firming trend in the overseas market, pick-up in demand at the spot market mainly pushed up silver futures prices.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.63 per cent higher at $38.07 an ounce in the Asian region.
