Traders could curb groundnut oil purchase

Groundnut oil was remained unchanged on Tuesday as demand was limited after price rise during last few days last week. Trader said that demand may drop as buyers are limited in the market.

Groundnut oil loose was traded at Rs 1,220-1,225 for 10 kg, teliya tin price ruled at Rs 1,872-1,873 for 15 kg and groundnut oil new tin was quoted unchanged on Rs 2,090-2,100 for 15 kg. About 2-3 tankers of groundnut oil were traded by mills in Saurashtra.

Washed cottonseed oil ruled at Rs 600-603 for 10 kg and cotton oil new tin ruled steady at Rs 1,065-1,075 for 15 kg. About 20-30 tankers of cotton oil were traded by the mills.

A Rajkot-based edible oil trader said that on Friday and Saturday, groundnut and cotton oil prices increased as some brands manufacters were active in the market. However, from Monday buying was very limited. Moreover, lower cottonseed price made cotton oil cheaper. Both the oils are likely to decline in the coming days as there is not any expectation for fresh buying.
