The price of the coconut oil was increased and the traders feel that the price may increase further. “Suddenly the price of the oil shows an upward trend. On Thursday, it was sold at ₹1,360 for 15-kg pack — up from Wednesday’s ₹1,340. The price may go up further though the demand for the oil is medium,” said RM Palanisamy a trader. He also said the price of the copra increased to ₹6,100-6,200 a quintal in the local markets. One of the popular firms purchased the copra at ₹6,500.
