Coconut oil prices were quoting lower in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
In Kerala, prices were ruling at ₹113.50/kg while in Tamil Nadu they were quoting at ₹110.
Bharat N.Khona, former Board Member, COMA, said a subdued demand from corporates has brought down the prices. He added that poor upcountry demand also contributed to the downtrend.
The prices of loose oil for 15 kg were quoting ₹1,650 in Tamil Nadu and this may come down due to low demand. Edible oils like palmolein and palm kernel oil are ruling at ₹63 per kg and ₹85 per kg respectively.
Traders are expecting a revival in the market with the commencement of the season in Kerala by the end of this month. It will take one more month for the revival of the market in Tamil Nadu.
