A volume of 15.52 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 17 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction to be held on Thursday and Friday. It is as much as 2.40 lakh kg more than last week’s offer. Of this, 10.21 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 5.31 lakh kg, dust grades. As much as 14.61 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 91,000 kg, orthodox variety. The proportion of orthodox teas continues to be low in both leaf and dust grades.
