Coriander continued to decline in line with the bearish trend in the spices counter as a whole. Coriander declined by 2 per cent on the back of improved rain that has improved the prospects of the crop. Sluggish domestic and export demand amid higher arrivals are also seen as reasons.
On the NCDEX, September contracts rose a tad to Rs 3,941 a quintal. October and November contracts slid by Rs 28 and Rs 17 to Rs 4,055 and Rs 4,235 a quintal respectively.
Heavy rainfall in Rajasthan recently has led to subdued trade in spot markets. The total arrivals in mandis across Rajasthan were around 5,000 bags (of 40 kg each), compared with 4,700 bags on Wednesday.
In the spot market at Kota, Rajasthan, coriander was ruling steady at Rs 4,229 a quintal.
